Oct.6- Stayed aboard Larinda in preparation for our trip the next day to Hyannis, MA..

Oct. 7- Underway at 0645 and headed for the Cotuit town dock in order to pick up our crew. Arrived in Hyannis for our annual turn around at 0930. Crowds were thin so we decided to save our cannon blast for our return late in the afternoon. Sailed all day in Nantucket sound trying out our new crew A great time was had by all. By 1800 we sailed into Hyannis and dropped sails by the yacht club. motored into the inner harbor. A great party was going on at Baxter's Fish and Chips so we gave them a blast with one of our cannons. the whole town was awakened. Cheers and yells came from Baxter's and we returned with a blast from our large steam whistle. More excitement and talk ensued. Two ferries were approaching the inner harbor at this time and they radioed us a warning of arrival. We radioed a response letting them know that we would be standing by off to the side by Hyannis Marina until they were clear and berthed. Later wewent back to Baxter's and fired a second cannon salute. What fun was had by all. Too bad we can't dock up in Hyannis. Leaving the innner harbor, we anchored in Lewis bay for the night.

Oct.8 - Hauled up the anchor at 0630 and headed out for Oak Bluffs, Marthas Vineyard, MA.. Arrived in the inner harbor at 1000 and tied up to the harbormaster mooring. The entrance is very shallow and we worried til we went past the jetty. Had a great day in Oak Bluffs and a fine dinner aboard Larinda.

Oct. 9 - Left the harbor at 0700 and at half tide. Touched bottom three times but got out safely. Rain and some wind accompanied us all the way to Cotuit. Arrived about 1000 and off loaded our crew and gear at the town dock. Motored out to the mooring secured the ship and rowed to shore. Another great trip was had by all.
